Cancellation & refund policy
Last updated 11 October 2026. RYDU is operated by Jayesh Sharma, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.
When you can cancel a ride for free, when a fee applies, and how to get money back if something went wrong.
Cancelling a ride
- Your first 3 cancellations in a row are free.
- After that, each cancellation costs ₹10 until you complete a ride. Completing a ride resets the count, so your next 3 cancellations are free again.
- The app tells you before you confirm whether this cancellation will cost the fee.
- The fee is added to your next ride's fare. It isn't taken from your bank account on its own.
- Rides that expire because no driver was found, and rides cancelled by the driver or by RYDU, are always free and don't count.
Rides booked for later
- Cancel for free up to 1 hour before the pickup time.
- Closer to the pickup time, the rules above apply.
Drivers
When a rider pays a cancellation fee after a driver had accepted and set off, the fee goes to that driver.
When you get a refund
We refund you in full if:
- you were charged twice for the same ride,
- you paid for a ride that didn't happen,
- you were charged more than the fare shown in the app for that trip, or
- you were charged a cancellation fee that shouldn't have applied.
How to ask for a refund
- In the app, raise a ticket in Help, or email us with the ride date, time and pickup place.
- Ask within 7 days of the ride.
- We check it and reply within 2 working days.
How and when it reaches you
- UPI and online payments are refunded to the same account or UPI ID you paid from, within 5 to 7 working days after we approve the refund. Your bank may take longer to show it.
- For rides paid in cash, we refund to a UPI ID you give us.
- RYDU credit (from invites or promotions) can be used on rides but can't be turned into cash.
